The Media Education Society is a 501(c)(3) public charity rooted in Catholic Social Teaching, dedicated to promoting media literacy education through the lens of the common good. Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, spiritually mature Volunteer Pastoral Care Coordinator to serve as a volunteer within our faith-based media ministry. The Pastoral Care Coordinator will play a vital role in connecting individuals assisted by the Media Education Society to their local parish communities, offering intercessory prayer, and providing spiritual support aligned with Catholic faith and doctrine. This position is ideal for someone with strong theological grounding and a deep desire to serve others through the healing power of prayer and pastoral presence.

Key Responsibilities

Spiritual Support & Pastoral Connection
• Provide intercessory prayer and spiritual encouragement to individuals who reach out to the ministry.
• Serve as a compassionate presence and a listening ear for those seeking faith-based support.
• Direct individuals to appropriate parish resources and encourage engagement with their local pastors and parish communities.

Ministry Collaboration & Outreach
• Serve as a bridge between the Media Education Society and Catholic parishes by fostering relationships with clergy and local church leaders.
• Maintain a confidential and prayerful environment for all spiritual interactions.
• Offer insights and spiritual feedback to the leadership team to help enhance the pastoral dimension of the ministry’s outreach.

Who You Are

  • A practicing Catholic with solid faith formation and commitment to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
    • Experienced in catechesis, theology, pastoral ministry, or religious education (formal or informal).
    • Gifted in the ministry of intercession and pastoral care.
    • Comfortable praying with and for others, both in writing and in conversation.
    • A servant leader with humility, empathy, and discretion.
    • Passionate about helping others reconnect with the sacraments, parish life, and the healing presence of Christ.

Volunteer Commitment

Time Commitment – Approximately 3–5 hours per month, including prayer outreach, responding to requests, and coordination with leadership.
Engagement – Remain in regular communication with the leadership team to report on ministry needs and suggest improvements.
Confidentiality – Uphold strict confidentiality and discretion in all pastoral interactions.
