About the Media Education Society
The Media Education Society is a 501(c)(3) public charity rooted in Catholic Social Teaching, dedicated to promoting media literacy education through the lens of the common good. We believe media literacy is essential for faith formation, informed citizenship, personal agency, and community resilience. Our apostolic movement empowers individuals and communities with the skills to discern, navigate, and create media that upholds their Judeo-Christian values.
Position Summary
The Media Education Society is seeking dedicated, faith-filled Volunteer Education Consultant to support the development and delivery of media literacy education from a Catholic perspective. As a Volunteer Education Consultant, you will help shape curriculum, facilitate learning in virtual and in-person settings, and serve as a key liaison between our apostolate and Catholic educational institutions, including diocesan departments, schools, catechists, and parish leaders.
This is a hands-on, mission-critical role for anyone with experience in Catholic education, curriculum development, or catechetical ministry who is passionate about forming minds and hearts through faithful, media-literate instruction.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development & Teaching
• Assist in designing and refining media literacy curriculum materials rooted in Catholic Social Teaching.
• Adapt lessons for a range of audiences, including students, teachers, parents, catechists, and parish groups.
• Support the delivery of both virtual and in-person classes, workshops, and training sessions.
Liaison & Collaboration
• Serve as a bridge between the Media Education Society and local educators, catechists, school administrators, and diocesan education departments.
• Collaborate with diocesan leadership to align curriculum with educational guidelines and formation standards.
• Provide feedback and recommendations from the field to help improve teaching tools and resources.
Mission Support
• Represent the Media Education Society with professionalism, enthusiasm, and spiritual integrity.
• Support the apostolate’s mission to promote faithful, values-based media engagement within Catholic schools and parish communities.
• Contribute to a culture of prayer, formation, and community-building among our educator network.
Who You Are
• A practicing Catholic with a solid understanding of Church teachings and Catholic Social Teaching.
• Experienced in teaching, curriculum development, catechesis, or educational leadership.
• Passionate about the intersection of faith, education, and media formation.
• Comfortable teaching and engaging both virtually and in person.
• Knowledgeable about the structure of Catholic schools and diocesan education systems.
• A strong communicator and team player with an educator’s heart.

Time Commitment – Approximately 4–8 hours per month, flexible depending on your availability.

Travel – Occasional travel may be required for in-person teaching or diocesan collaboration (local/regional only).
Flexibility – Opportunities are tailored to your availability and areas of expertise.
